Rico Bravo

Rico Bravo wanted to learn and dance to the music he loved after seeing his parents perform. He began training under them and performing at numerous local events. After a solid year of hard training, Rico performed at the 2000 LA Congress. Returning to Seattle, he captured a $10,000 prize at the Seattle World Salsa Competition. Next, he took 2nd Place at the 2001 Sportman’s Lodge Competition and made a strong showing at the 2001 LA Congress. Reaching the semi-finals in the 2002 Mayan World Salsa Competition cemented Rico place in the professional salsa dance community.

Rico formed Bravos De La Rumba Dance Company, which toured across the U.S.
He also made appearances on Star Search and Marc Anthony’s music video, Valió la Pena and continues to establish himself as one of the rising stars in the Salsa world.



Gemini Salsa

Internationally recognized Professional Dancer, Choreographer, Instructor, and Promoter, Javier Solis, is from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. He founded the Portland Salsa Congress in 2005. It has since developed into the premier competitive Salsa Congress in the Pacific Northwest. Javier has been busy founding many more Congresses including in Boise and Merida, Mexico.

He has partnered with the most respected names in Salsa including Albert Torres, to ensure every dancer has the most amazing, satisfying, experience. Gemini has opened and performed for many major Latin Salsa Stars including Oscar De Leon, Victor Manuel and Gilberto Santarosa. Gemini and his team have also done many half-time performances for the Portland Trail Blazers and was a judge for the Blazer's Dancer try-outs. Gemini made history worldwide, dancing on the Great Wall of China in 2007. He was invited to tour to Beijing to demonstrate and teach Salsa dancing. Her had such a great time, and was so well-received, he plans to make another tour back to China later this year.

His creativity and keen eye for picking up details, assist him, his partners and dance team, in producing complex, energetic and exciting choreography. JAVIER HAS TRAVELED WORLDWIDE AND TRAINED AMAZING TEAMS. HE LOOKS FORWARD TO TEACHING FOR MANY MORE YEARS!

Celso Orozco

Celso Orozco is the director of Speranza Dance Company based out of San Diego California. Bringing his team to Alaska, his impressive dancing and excellent instruction.

Michelle Holland is a fourth generation Alaskan who is passionate about both, dance and Alaska. She is the owner and operator of Alaska Dance Promotions studio and the host of the annual Alaska Salsa Festival.

Michelle is a professional, certified dance instructor. Over the last year she has taught weekly at her own studio in Anchorage, Alaska and has been a guest instructor at the Los Angeles Salsa Congress, the Seattle Salsa Congress and the Hawaii Salsa and Bachata Festival as well as several other venues.

Michelle is full of energy that she uses to host parties, create choreography and coach several performance teams. Her instruction style is clear and fun and her excitement for social dancing is contagious.
